Feedback: Hi, Please read this email carefully, acknowledge receipt and provide steps to address the situation outlined below.
Here Is my flight information:
ORG: MUM, DEST: DEL, Flt: S2 0104, Seat: 1C, Captain: Deepak Gupta
During take-off, I noticed that a guy (Seat 1D across the aisle) had his laptop bag in front of his seat. By that time, the air hostess had already taken her station for take-off so i could not inform her. During take-off, his bag moved around and he tried to adjust it with his legs and was somehow able to balance it.
After take-off when the captain turned off the seat belt sign, I told a junior AH who passed by, that the bag should not have been there. She informed senior AH, Ms. Komal who came and mentioned that it is ALLOWED to have bags in front of the seat (not underneath the seat in front of you) and it is only on the emergency row that it is not allowed. I did not argue and waited for the flight to land in Delhi. As I was about deplane, I asked the Air hostess again, if she can confirm that bags (however small) are allowed in front near the legs. She said "Yes, they are allowed in domestic flights". I asked her to give this in writing and she refused. I then asked to speak to the Captain who came and said it is not allowed (He was right) but the Air hostess continued to argue that there are different rules for domestic and international flights (even Safety rules) and that she has flown Singapore and London sectors before.
This is a gross violation of flight security and she is clearly ill-informed of the rules and does not have the right to manage passengers. It is due to her negligence and understanding of the rules that the lady next to me (Seat 1B) had her bag near her legs during landing (She must have overheard the explanation from the AH who said it is OK) when she had it stowed in the overhead compartment during take-off. See the ripple-effect of misinformation. This critical security lapse can be corrected easily. Please do the needful
